A multi-genre compilation of students and associates of the DeMelfi School of Music, Hazleton, Pa.
At the DeMelfi School of Music in Hazleton, Pa., some of the best and most creative students are picked to be part of a school CD project to be released on Captain Blue Records. Our previous project was "Child Prodigies" (also available on CD Baby and many digital distribution sites). This project uses 4 artists who appeared on the "Child Prodigies" CD: Kirsten Evancho, Venessa Vicoso, Jordan Gorski, and Kelly Sacco.

Each project is done for the purpose of teaching the students how record labels and publishers work. Most participate in the recording process. Some participate in the editing and mixing process. Some help with promotion and distribution. They all receive royalty payments as they would if they were signed to a major or independent label.

Additionally, the students are taught teamwork, and are shown the value of having as many people as possible on a project, whether they be artists, songwriters, producers, engineers, etc. The idea is that each person involved in the project will play a part in the promotion and distribution of the project.

Our network of participants include songwriters, engineers, producers, artists, newspapers, and radio DJs.

This particular project is multi-genre, and contains a pleasing mixture of Pop, Celtic, Christian, New Age, Punk, and Classic Rock styles. With the exception of Clark Luis, all of the artists are, or were at one time, students of the DeMelfi School of Music. However, John Baran, the composer of the song "We're Down The Rocks" (also our title cut), was a songwriting student at the school, only for the duration of the writing of this song.
