Blisters on My Heart

Taylor Sappe

A fun way of saying "You broke my heart.....again!"

How many times have you had your heart broken? Who broke your heart? A lover? A Friend? A relative? I have had my heart broken so many times by all three that I'm beginning to get metaphoric blisters on it. So much hurt in such a humorous way.

Christmas Eve

Taylor Sappe

Global climate change has caused warming in areas that usually get snow in late December, preventing Santa from using his sleigh to deliver toys on Christmas.

Christmas eve of 2015 in Northeastern Pennsylvania was 70 degrees. That was very unusual for an area that normally gets blizzards in late December. I asked myself if this was a fluke or the result of global climate change. Either way, we have to start thinking of new ways for Santa to deliver the toys on Christmas eve. Those thoughts prompted me to write this song.

My intention was to create a song with a playful nature that delivers the message of climate change.

My Own Country Song

Taylor Sappe

This Country style is one of many genres and styles you will find in Taylor Sappe's compositions.

This song was written while stuck in traffic. Interstate 81 near Pine Grove, Pa. was under construction and traffic was backed up. I decided to bypass the long delay by going through Pine Grove,, only to find that the main road through town was also under construction. As I sat at a stand still, voicing my frustrations, I realized that my situation was a prime topic for a country song, so I wrote a song that expressed my frustrations in a fun way..

By the Bay

Taylor Sappe

A smooth jazz instrumental composition, with piano, upright bass, and drums, inspired by a beautiful day near the Chesapeake Bay in the Baltimore area.

Although inspired by beautiful weather near the bay, this piece was an experiment using some of the features of Cubase 7.5. A chord track combined with midi loops and an arranger track constructed this entire arrangement.

Cover photo by Rachel Hutson.

The Master Number

Taylor Sappe

Original piano solos for meditation and relaxation

"The Master Number" is based on numerology's master number 11. When all digits in a number add up to 11, it is said to be the master number. On this album, all tempos, including tempo changes within a composition, have digits that add up to 11. All of the digits in each track length time also add up to 11. The title of one piece, "Five 409s", adds up like this: Line up the number 409 in a column until there are 5 409s in the column. Add all the 4s together and you get 20, add all the zeros and you get 0, add all the 9s together and you get 45. Now add the 2 and 0 from the 20 and you get 2. Add the 4 and 5 from the 45 together and you get 9. Now add the 2 and the 9 and you get 11.

The album release date is August 14, 2014, or 08-14-2014. If you add the digits in the month you get 8. Add the digits in the day (14) and you get 5. Add the digits in the year (2014) and you get 7. Now add the 8 and 5 together and you get 13. Add the 1 and 3 from 13 together and you get 4. Add that to the 7 you got from adding 2014, and you get 11. That is why this album is titled "The Master Number".
